Understand export jobs and retries
Follow queued, processing, completed and partial exports, then retry failed customer versions without recreating successful files.
Last updated
Exporting creates a persistent task. You can navigate away and return to Exports to see its status. Closing a browser tab does not remove a submitted task.
Before starting an export
- Save the customer’s pricing rules.
- Save the catalog snapshot after choosing brand, layout and paper size.
- Make sure the workspace has the required export allowance.
- Choose a single customer PDF or a batch of separate buyer versions.
Read the task state
Queued tasks are waiting for a worker. Processing tasks are being rendered. A ready result can be downloaded. A partial batch has some successful customer files and some failed results; inspect the failure information instead of submitting the whole batch again.
Retry only the failed customer versions
Use the queue’s retry control for the failed selection. The system tracks reserved, consumed and released units so an unsuccessful result does not silently consume the same allowance again. Retries remain subject to the task and resource limits.
Download the saved result
Downloading an existing successful result does not create a new export or consume another unit. A fresh generation is a separate action. Files remain private and are available only to the owning account; if a file has expired under an approved policy, create a new export from a suitable saved version.
