Choose a catalog layout for your product range
Compare grid, list and collection layouts using product length, image quality and the way a buyer checks your range.

A good layout gives your buyer a predictable reading order. It makes product names, SKUs and their prices easy to connect, while giving photography the space it needs. Choose using real product data rather than an empty template thumbnail.
Studio Grid for comparing a visual range
A grid suits a collection with consistent photos and short descriptions. The repeated structure makes it easy to compare nearby products. Try a page with several categories and confirm that a long product name still reads clearly beside shorter names.
Compact List for a quick reference
A list puts more emphasis on identifying products and comparing prices. It can be useful for repeat buyers who already know the range. Keep the descriptions focused so the list remains a reference rather than a sequence of dense text blocks.
Collection for a more spacious introduction
Larger imagery and room for descriptions help when the material, finish or product story needs explanation. This may create more pages. Review the complete result rather than assuming that fewer products in a layout always means a better catalog.
Prepare photos that work together
- Use clear, consistently framed product images.
- Keep enough room around the product to avoid a cramped crop.
- Check that light products remain visible against the paper background.
- Use the missing-photo report to resolve gaps before sending.
Choose the actual paper size
A4 and US Letter have different proportions. Preview the size you intend to export, including the last page. A page break that looks good in one size may move in the other. All three templates keep the exported paper white even when the workspace uses a dark theme.
Check the contents as well as the design
Set your brand, collection name, sorting and customer before saving the snapshot. Verify a fixed price and a discounted product. Then open the PDF itself: a polished thumbnail does not replace checking the file a buyer will receive.
Put the guide into practice.
Explore the fictional collection, check buyer prices and see how the layouts handle the same product data.
